Family Constellations and Psychotherapy

I was certified as a Family Constellations facilitator from ISFO in 2017, and have run regular ongoing groups ever since, as well as various workshops. I trained as a psychotherapist in 2013, and am also a family therapist, family counsellor, and supervisor. I teach trauma and attachment on the SEOP psychotherapy training programme.

I am passionate about Family Constellations because it is a simple, yet profound and effective method for revealing and processing hidden dynamics, traumas, and conflicts within families and other relational systems.
The method was originally developed by the German psychotherapist Bert Hellinger.
It is based on the theory that as children, we often unconsciously take on guilt, responsibility, or difficult emotions from our ancestors. When the natural order is disturbed, we can end up carrying generational patterns of repetition. This can block personal development and prevent love from flowing freely.

During a Family Constellation, other participants in the group are used as representatives for family members or dynamics. The issue is, so to speak, set up on the floor. Through the representatives' feedback, it becomes clear where one unconsciously carries something that truly belongs to the family system. The constellation reveals where relationships have become entangled and how these entanglements continue to live within us. Family Constellations can break these incomprehensible patterns and create deep, lasting changes in life.
It is difficult to explain what happens in a constellation; it needs to be experienced.

Everyone can participate, but not everyone will have a constellation.
