Sonos speakers
We have a Sonos system from 2023 with several speakers in the hall and in the treatment room.
Practical information for facilitators on site:
This system requires you to bring your own device – this could be an iPhone, Android, iPad, computer, or similar.
It also requires you to have your own music/audio files/services on your device.
To get the most out of the speakers, we recommend that you install the “Sonos 2” App on your own device and connect to Sukkerfabrikken's guest Wi-Fi network.
Spotify
Spotify has a built-in feature called 'Direct Control'. You can use this on both Android and iPhone to select and play music on the speakers.
Direct Control works as long as you are connected to the building's Wi-Fi network and have the app open. However, if your device leaves the network, the music will stop. The same applies if you are on a phone call (but not if the phone simply rings without you answering).
AirPlay:
If you have an Apple device, AirPlay is an easily accessible feature within the app for most music and audiobook services.
AirPlay works as long as you are connected to the building's network and have the app open. However, if your device leaves the network, the music will stop. The same applies if you are on a phone call (but not if the phone simply rings without you answering).
AirPlay Support: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/1230?language=da
Multiple Speakers
If you wish to use more than one speaker simultaneously, you will need the Sonos app on your device to group them. This applies whether you are playing via AirPlay or Direct Control.
Support for grouping speakers: https://support.sonos.com/da-dk/article/group-and-ungroup-rooms
Music Services
Support for streaming audio from another app: https://support.sonos.com/s/article/3549?language=da
Playlists on Your Device:
The speakers can also be used to play playlists stored directly in folders on your device. This requires an iPhone with AirPlay.
Limitations:
The speakers cannot be used with Bluetooth.
With an Android mobile, the system can only be used for Spotify, as Android does not support AirPlay for playing playlists and similar content.
Please Note:
We recommend that you familiarise yourself with the Sonos system well in advance, as we do not offer on-site support.
For support, Sonos (https://support.sonos.com) can be contacted by phone on +45 80 40 01 77
OTHER
We also have an older boomblaster with a cable available on site, which can be used to play CDs.
For outdoor music, we recommend bringing your own speakers.
Practical Information
After 10 PM, please ensure noise levels are reduced out of consideration for the permanent residents and neighbours. Similarly, if music is being played indoors, windows and doors must be kept closed.
